![]() However, there are some I really like that I'm considering buying new. I like Folio Society editions more than Easton Press, but I mostly buy them used and much cheaper than they cost new. Le Guin book after she died, because I figured it was going to be the only way I'd get an autographed copy. I bought an Easton Press autographed edition of an Ursula K. Thank you all for the input you might offer. I'd prefer they be somewhat modern because I intend to actually read and use them, and with an antique, I, personally, would not feel comfortable throwing them in a briefcase or backpack to read whenever I wished. Why is there such a negative opinion on these publishers? I understand they are not true "antique" or "rare" books as they are recently published, but, to my eye, they certainly seem finely made for modern books. However, whenever I see them mentioned in this sub, it is with derision, with comments indicating that they are low quality, or a rip-off and such, and that you can find them for $2 anywhere you look. ![]() I'm rather new to book collecting, and, from what I've seen, the publishers listed in the title put out beatiful editions of some of the most classic titles. ![]()
